The Home Riverview Retreat is a beautifully restored Goan home — one that carries its history in the stained-glass windows, the geometry of the checkered floors, and the hand-painted tiles that line every hallway. The striking red front door is the first tell. Set in the quiet village of Curca, the home looks out from a private garden — past mature shading trees — to the mangrove canopy and the river beyond. The atmosphere is unhurried and quietly extraordinary. The open-plan living-cum-dining room draws you in immediately: tan leather seating, carved wooden furniture, vibrant pop art, and those signature black-and-white checkered floors, all framed by French windows that dissolve the line between interior and garden. Richly panelled hallways run through the house; exposed timber beams give the rooms their scale. The kitchen is a particular surprise: glossy red cabinetry, matte black walls and ceiling, stainless steel finishes — bold, purposeful, fully equipped. It opens directly to the garden, making the boundary between cooking and outdoor life gratifyingly thin. Bedrooms Riverview Retreat has two ensuite bedrooms and a split-level Children's Room. The Master Suite on the first floor is the finest room in the house: a four-poster bed beneath exposed wooden beams, a marble-topped coffee table, a dedicated writing desk, and a private balcony framing mangrove and river views. The ensuite — dark stone flooring, deep blue vanity — is designed to match. The Guest Bedroom on the ground floor is calm - furnished with a white bed with premium linens, a woven patterned rug, sheer curtains, and a modern ensuite in earthy tones. The Children's Room is a small delight: one carved single bed in a mezzanine loft, one nestled below, connected by a sleek staircase. Its own terracotta-toned ensuite completes it. Outdoors The private garden is where the home fully opens. Mature shading trees and lush tropical plants frame a white garden bench positioned for views of the surrounding mangroves and the river beyond. Composition of Guests - We welcome Families, Couples, Mixed, Ladies and Male groups (Primary guest with a minimum age of 18 years) Security Deposit - A refundable security deposit of Rs. 20,000 (or Rs. 30,000 for all-male groups) will be collected in cash only at the time of check-in. This amount will be refunded in full at check-out, provided there is no damage to the property at the time of guest departure Identity Proof of Each Registered Guest - Government approved Photo-cum-Address ID of all the guests including children must be shared with the ZenAway team through an online form prior to check-in date. Please note that only pre-registered guests are allowed to stay in this home Non-registered Guests & Visitors - Non-registered guests or visitors are allowed to visit this home during the daytime but are not allowed to stay or sleep overnight in this home Quiet Hours - This home is located in a quiet residential area. Please respect the neighbors and keep the noise down especially after 10 pm. Please note that no loud music is allowed to be played outdoors at any time of the day, evening or night. Non- adherence may lead to eviction of guests from this home without any compensation for their balance stay whatsoever Check-Out & Check-In Time - Our scheduled Check-Out time is 11 am and Check-In time is 3 pm. Early check-in/Late check-out is subject to availability. Please communicate with our Guest Experience Team to check if an early check-in and/or late check-out is possible and extra charges for the same Damage, Misplacement or Loss - Guests shall be solely liable to cover expenses related to any damage, misplacement or loss caused to this home and/or its belongings during their stay with us. Such expenses shall be deducted from the security deposit collected from the guests prior to check-in and the guests shall be responsible to make good the entire damage or loss before check-out Guests’ Belongings & Valuables - Please note that guests are fully responsible for safe- keeping of all their belongings and valuables. We do not take responsibility for any theft or misplacement of any of guests’ valuables during their stay with us Smoking Policy - Smoking is strictly prohibited inside this home, but you may smoke in the balconies / sit-out / pool area. While smoking, please use ashtrays placed in these areas and take all necessary precautions to prevent any fire. The penalty for smoking indoors is INR 10,000/- Drugs - Carrying or consumption of any banned drugs and substances is strictly prohibited in this home. Non-adherence will lead to immediate eviction of guests from this home without any compensation for their balance stay whatsoever CCTV Cameras - CCTV cameras have been installed in the exteriors of this home for the safety and Security of our guests Pet Policy - This is NOT a pet friendly home and no pets are allowed here both indoors and outdoors Linen Refresh Cycle - We refresh bed sheets, duvet covers, pillow covers, bath towels, and bath mats every fourth day, and hand towels daily. This practice balances guest comfort with our collective environmental responsibility Keys/Access Code - Please do not share the access code or keys to this home with any individual not registered as a guest, under any circumstances. It is mandatory to return the keys to the caretaker/housekeeper at the time of departure. Loss (or misplacement) of the keys will incur replacement cost of the door-lock Wi-Fi - To login the Wi-Fi just point your mobile camera at the wi-fi QR code on card placed in living room for an automatic log-in. For logging into wi-fi on your laptop, use network name and wi-fi code on card TV - This home is equipped with cable connection OR pre-loaded streaming apps Washing Machine - A washing machine has been placed with liquid detergent for your use. Laundry bag is placed in each bathroom to place your soiled clothes in ahead of using the washing machine Iron & Iron Board - An iron and iron-board are available for your use. Please wait for the iron to cool down fully after use before placing it back at its designated place Digital Locker (Safe) & Safety of Your Valuables - We have placed Digital Locker in this house and request you to place all your valuables in these lockers Kitchen & Cooking - Our fully functional kitchen is available for you to cook anytime during your stay with us. Just get your own ingredients for cooking and make use of all the kitchen facilities, utensils and appliances we have placed at your disposal Daily Housekeeping - This home will be cleaned every day by our caretakers. If you are stepping out during the day-time, please let caretakers know whether they can clean the bedrooms in your absence Cleaning of Cookware, Utensils, Crockery & Cutlery - Our caretakers will clean all cookware, utensils, crockery and cutlery that you may use during your stay with us Working Hours for Caretakers - Our caretakers are available to serve you between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm every day. They will take a two-hour afternoon break every day
